When brass music sounds warm and velvety and touches the heart in a special way, it can only come from bohemia or moravia. When its polkas, waltzes and marches are cleanly intoned and the tempi are cleverly chosen, the dynamics are polished and the sound is harmonious, then it can only be the "bohemian fever" his. With an appealing concert in the TV hall in augsfeld, the brass band once again demonstrated its skills and at the same time bid farewell to florian unkauf, who as conductor has played a major role in the success of the brass band.
Because florian unkauf is leaving "with a bit of melancholy" in the heart to study music for the gymnasium teaching profession at the music academy in wurzburg, after he had been suffering from the "bohemian fever" for three years worked together. "It was an intensive time, in which we tried out a lot, thought about a new rehearsal strategy and made a big push forward through project-based practicing", he said. Over the whole period one had made very beautiful music. "All in all, the wind orchestra has developed well and i enjoyed working with the musicians very much", the conductor said at the farewell.
To the musicians, his great rehearsal work, the ideas he brought to the association and purposefully implemented, and the intense concerts were worth a rough thanks. As michael philipp said in the name of the band, florian unkauf has been an outstanding conductor, who with the necessary precision, a lot of patience and a lot of joy has been able to overcome the "bohemian fever" has embossed. He also thanked the orchestra for their joint success in winning the upper level competition at the state music festival in alzenau, before daniela reh presented the outgoing conductor with a gift basket.
But before that, the audience enjoyed the incomparable playing of the wind orchestra that he formed. The program, hosted by michael philipp, included reminiscences of ernst mosch and his egerlander musicians as well as a presentation of contemporary compositions. The "hartenberg polka, the "fox pit polka or the polka "musikantentraum" the march "fire and ice" was on the program by guido henn, the polka "herbstwind" from hans bruss, the clarinetist of michael klostermann and his musicians, the "worry breakers-polka of the scherzachtaler musikanten and the "AHA-polka" by nick loris, the singer of ernst hutter’s egerlander musikanten, opposite. The waltzes "by candlelight" as well and "in the beautiful bohmer forest" the brass orchestra performed in perfect form.
Each register presented itself with coarse joy of playing, a velvety sound and the drummer gave an excellent rhythm. In addition daniela reh and michael selig raised again and again their beautiful voices as for example to the waltzes "we see us again" and "booming wind as well as to the polkas like "tausend sube junge madchen" (a thousand young girls), "we musicians" or "old friends". Also the experienced audience sang again and again with pleasure the well-known pieces like "egerland heimatland or "on the bird meadow clapped to the beat and gave the band much applause. The musicians, among them the guest musician hubert muller from augsfeld, thanked him with three encores.
The only drawback to the concert was that only 80 people attended. A reason for ludwig mennel from habfurt to take the microphone, to express his regrets and to congratulate the band on its success. "I thank you very much for this experience and will promote you", he said.
